At Our Space we offer a number of approaches and therapies to support children, adolescents and adults. Often, tailoring an approach combining different therapies to a clients needs is most successful.

Play Therapy

At Our Space we provide 1:1 play and creative arts therapy sessions for children and young people aged three and over.
At our play therapy rooms in Worcester, Our child-centred approach offers children a safe, accepting and non-judgemental space to explore and work through difficult experiences and feelings.

Therapeutic Life Story Work

Therapeutic Life Story Work offers children the opportunity to explore, question and understand past events of their life. Within this, it gives them a voice and safe space to feel and express their emotions when making sense of past experiences and the relation it has to their current thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
“Therapeutic Life story can help children to identify and understand the ghosts of the past so children are no longer haunted by them” – Richard Rose (2012)

AutPlay

AutPlay combines aspects of play therapy and behavioural therapy to help children and adolescents gain needed skills.

Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CRPT)

Child-Parent Relationship Therapy is a play-based therapy program for young children presenting with behavioural, emotional, social, and attachment concerns.

At the heart of CPRT is the premise that a secure parent child relationship is the essential factor for children’s well-being.

Creative Arts Therapy

Creative Arts Therapy is a form of therapy that uses art materials such as paints, clay and paper. These tools can help children and young adults to communicate issues, emotions and worries and can provide insight into any feelings that may be present.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Therapy) Adult & Child

EMDR is a comprehensive psychotherapy that helps you process and recover from past experiences that are affecting your mental health and wellbeing.

EMDR helps you process the negative images, emotions, beliefs and body sensations associated with traumatic memories that seem to be stuck. These can contribute to a range of mental health problems.

EMDR helps you to see things from a different perspective and relieves the symptoms that you were suffering.

Drama Therapy

A form of Psychotherapy which draws upon creative methods such as stories, puppets, masks, sand, miniatures, art, music and movement to promote expression as well as providing children with a voice that words alone don’t always offer.
