Our Space Play & Family Therapies CIC
We established Our Space in July 2023, becoming a Community Interest Company (CIC) in September 2023. This brought together our practices to provide opportunities to support a greater number of children and families. Since then we have grown to become the leading play and creative arts therapy centre in Worcestershire.
Our Mission:
At Our Space Play and Family Therapies CIC, we believe every person deserves a space where they are seen, heard, valued, and free to be themselves.
We create inclusive, playful, and compassionate environments where children, young people, adults, and families can connect, explore, and grow in ways that honour their unique strengths, identities, and lived experiences.
Guided by neuro-affirming values, we celebrate difference rather than seeking to change it, recognising that there is no single “right” way to think, communicate, learn, or relate.
Through creative play, therapeutic support, and meaningful relationships, we nurture confidence, belonging, emotional wellbeing, and resilience.
We work alongside families and communities, empowering people to discover their own voices, build authentic connections, and thrive on their own terms.
Together, we are creating a space where every mind belongs, every family matters, and every journey is respected.
Our Values
Inclusion • Respect • Compassion • Collaboration • Empowerment • Integrity • Hope
Why this matters:
Mental health problems affect 1 in 9 children and young people. They can result in depression, anxiety and conduct disorder and are often a response to what is happening in their lives. Our Space’s team of therapists offers children a safe place to explore and work through feelings and behaviours that are causing upset and difficulties. Looking after a child’s emotional wellbeing and mental health can have long-lasting benefits and help prevent issues arising in adulthood.
As therapists, we are proud of our achievements so far. However, we recognise that individually we are barely scraping the surface and that there is much more to be done in supporting the growing number of children and families in need of our services. As a CIC we hope to be able to draw down funding that will allow us to reach even more children and families and extend our work in schools and with Social Services and other agencies.
